The outgoing Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday handed over the reins of office to his successor, Mr Babajide Sanwolu
However, there seems to still be a ‘cold war’ between outgoing Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
This is as the outgoing governor only gave special thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo without mentioning Tinubu in his farewell message.
Tinubu is believed to have been the one that helped Ambode to power
It will be recalled Tinubu said the outgoing governor didn’t perform badly, he said Ambode fell out of his favour for second term and that of the APC leadership in Lagos State for not being a “good party man”.
Ambode, in a brief private ceremony at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, handed over to the incoming governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the official handover today (Wednesday).
