The attention of the Association of Campus Journalists (EKSU Chapter) had been drawn to a fast circulating news of the best graduating student of the Department of Civil Engineering, Ekiti State University, to have received a reward prize of #100 (One Hundred Naira Only)
In respect to this, ACJ EKSU deem it fit to educate the public; the reward was an initiative of a nobel association named ADO EKITI PATRIOTIC FRONT
The Association which existed during the early years of the university have had an agreement with the school management to reward whoever emerge as the best graduating student of a department, faculty and the entire school, with the sum of #100, #150, #200 respectively
The amount that may apparently seem too small in present time, was of a greater value as at the year the pact was signed with the school management
However, ADO EKITI PATRIOTIC FRONT may have ceased to exist, yet there remains a standing order which the school management must follow irrespective of how valuable the reward is at present
In view of this, the Association of Campus Journalists, Eksu Chapter,
therefore, implore bloggers, PR persons, social media influencers and all media outfits alike, to pull down all negative comments targeted at the EKSU management as it only portrays the school to be one that never values the efforts of its Students towards achieving commendable results.
